This is a picture of the City Dock in Annapolis, Maryland. The berths have also been referred to as “ego alley”, where proud boat owners can display their boats to the entire city. Owning a boat is something I’ve always wanted to do – a dream of mine since childhood. I realize now, that I’ll never have the fiscal means to manifest that reality, but it would be nice to have my boat berthed at ego alley – perhaps a wooden Herreshoff schooner, or a Herreshoff replica. Better yet, a classic fore and main topsail gaff-rigged schooner, like the ones from days of old… Maybe I should just stick to the possibility of owning a kayak instead.
