Photographic Happenstance
Expressing the arbritary nature of life through incidental images of people, places, and things…

The scene reminds me of Paul Simon's song, A Hazy Shade of Winter, the same one that was re-made by The Bangles. There's a line in the song that always gets to me
"Hang on to your hopes, my friend. That's an easy thing to say, but if your hopes should pass away, simply pretend, that you can build them again",
at which the song transitions from
"Look around, leaves are brown, and the sky is a hazy shade of winter"
to
"Look around, grass is high, fields are ripe, it's the springtime of my life".
As if from cold gray of winter, a new revived spirit is born... the springtime of my life. Then again, it's only temporary because we just simply pretended to transition to the springtime of our lives...
