Back in January of 2005, a man from Michigan drove his van up to the corner of 15th and G Street NW, right next to the Treasury and Bank of America building, threatening to blow himself up over what appeared to be a child custody issue. I was working in the Metropolitan Square building and took this rather crappy photograph of the situation from a window in one of the offices (all the offices were empty at the time). Strangely enough, we never received the order to evacuate. The picture was taken as the bomb squad arrived, after which we decided to head down for a beer.
