The image has nothing to do with real dog days, except maybe to capture what our dog might consider doing on a real mid-summer day. I took this picture while the dog was laying on the deck, basking in the sun on a cool October day - she didn't seem to mind at all. We did, however, have another 70 degree November day - atypically warm for this time of year.
